HEY THERE, GIRLFRIEND!
Welcome to the conversation.
Have you ever been hurt by a friendship? Perhaps you have been the one to hurt someone else. It happens.
Female friendships are special, yet delicate relationships we have as women. When they’re good, they add unmatched quality and richness to our lives. But when something goes wrong, friendship hurt can be downright ugly. The pain can sink in deep.
The worst part is, once it happens to us, trusting another woman proves to be quite difficult. Some of us shut down, refusing to allow ourselves to open up to another woman in friendship again.
Can you relate?
Hey There, Girlfriend, is a weekly blog series written by women from all generations. These are women who are willing to share experiences, offer insights and provide helpful tips on ways we can do better.
A woman’s heart is tender, but we all know it can harden like stone when hurt. But, a hardened and closed-off heart is contradictory to God’s design.
“Dear Friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:11).” Translation? We should be full of good will and offer the same to each other.
Female friendships are a unique community. A healthy one offers support, companionship, and encouragement. We connect and relate by sharing our intimate lives together.
We won’t always get it right. Sometimes we will fail, and sometimes we will struggle. But, if we are more intentional about how we interact with one another, we stand a chance to gain what our hearts truly long for – deep friendship.
You are invited to join in on the dialogue. Together, we will learn ways to be a better friend, how to choose better friends, and how to care better for the ones we already have.
Have courage, Girlfriend. It’s about to get real.
